A woman. Literal
meaning: a female human being. A human being! But sometimes we tend
to forget this very basic concept. With approximately 3418059380 females around
the world, why is it that they are still a victim of extremism and violence?
Why aren’t they been given an equal and fair chance of living?
Forgetting about the
modern women and those having successful careers and perfect life, both
professional and personal, let’s just focus on that part of our society where a
girl is still considered as a curse and burden that need to be shed off as soon
as she is born.
Marriage. Something
very important in our life. It is when two people decide to get married and
start off a new life. Together they dream about a beautiful life together and
work day and night to fulfil them. But sometimes, they are just building
castles in air. They are not living a life they think they are. The other
person is not who they thought would be. And sometimes, such marriages become
disastrous.
Lie
is one of the most important and a very common reason for such disasters
happening around us. Men lying about their true identity or their real self and
them showing a false picture to the bride side is so wrong yet so universal it
is not even funny. Even if it is the other way round. Girls are not born saint, but they are the
ones at the receiving ends, most of the times. And this is when most part of
our society is educated, modern and civilized. But alas! We are not who we
think we are. We belong to this very same society where some of our own
relatives contribute to such irrational taboo. Women are weak so they need to be suppressed. Really? Why? Just
because they are physically incompatible? Cliché. Why can’t we understand that they
(women) are as delicate as glass dolls, or they have a pair of ribs more than
men? They are smart enough to make the millions and strong enough to bear the
children.
Men have this huge ego
that they keep on maintaining whole their life. ‘Thank me for I have married
you, or else you would have been a foreboding husbandless girl, whose parents
would have been worried sick.’ Or, “Bear with me, you have no other choice.”
She is the one who left
her house for you, dropped her father’s name for you, accepted your name, bear
your children, you slept while she attended them, they carried your name and
not her, she took care of your children and became your attendant in your fee
time, she endured whatever you gave her, looked after your parents, when you
were out for work, or partying out with your friends. She keeps on staying
awake till you return home safe. She cooks for you, cleans up for you, changes
herself for you and still at the end, all she gets to hear from you is, ‘what
have you done for me?’
